09/06   Lake Loramie Catfish Derby
Location: Lake Loramie Beach Parking Lot on St. Rt. 362
Kids 17 and under are invited to fish from 9 a.m. until Noon. The Division of Wildlife will stock 750 catfish in an enclosed channel giving everyone a chance to catch a fish! Those 16 and older must have their fishing license. Poles and a limited supply of bait will be there if you don't have them.

Sounds and beauty of the islands from around the world will be performed by Island Breeze. Enjoy stunning costumes, fireknife dancers, and pounding Pacific drums of this awe inspiring performance. Admission is free. Show begins at 7:00 pm.

09/18   Shelby County's Prisoners of War
Location: Ross Historical Center, 201 N. Main, Sidney 7 p.m.
Programs on World War II are always well attended, and this one promises to be no exception. Society president Rich Wallace and former POWs from our community will join us to share information on their capture and captivity. This program will support the Society’s newest exhibit on World War II.

The Lost Land Corn Maze is a fantastic outdoors fall activity - hosted weekends in Sidney from the beginning of September through the beginning of November. The complete maze path totals 4 miles in length. Fall family fun close to Dayton, Springfield, and Lima!

The Society’s annual Pioneer Program at the county Fairgrounds for 4th graders in the city and county schools has always featured wonderful crafts people and historians from all over Ohio. Featured will be Carol Wentz who is a professional personal historian.
