Mayfest Soccer Tournament
Date: Normally the 1st or 2nd weekend in May
Location: Tawawa Park Fields, Landrum Fields, Sidney High School, and Lehman High School in Sidney.

This annual event is hosted by the Shelby County Youth Soccer Association and routinely attracts some of the best youth soccer teams in the state and surrounding region to include Indiana, Michigan, Pennsylvania, and West Virginia.  Annually, more than 170 teams compete in this fun filled, spirited weekend event.  For more information about this tournament, please visit their website at www.MayfestSoccer.com.

Jackson Center Community Days
Date:
Normally the 1st weekend in June
Location: Village of Jackson Center, Ohio

Held the first weekend in June, beginning on Friday and ending on Sunday evening. This weekend festival draws large crowds to events such as the queen contest, live entertainment on Saturday and Sunday night, and a parade on Sunday afternoon. Food, drinks, games, rides, and entertainment are provided.


Botkins Carousel
Date:
Normally the 2nd Weekend in June
Location: Village of Botkins, Ohio

Fri night events include the queen contest and live entertainment. Saturday events include a kids parade in the afternoon, various games and competitions and live entertainment at night. Sunday is the annual parade and chicken dinners. Rides, food and drinks are provided throughout the weekend.


Holy Angels Parish Picnic
Date:
Normally the 3rd Saturday in June
Location: Shelby County Fairgrounds

This annual event has been a tradition in Sidney for many, many years. Hosted by the Holy Angels Catholic Church in Sidney, it features fun for all ages. Many former residents of the Sidney area routinely make the trip back to Sidney just for the picnic. Hourly attendance prizes are given out throughout the day and evening with the grand finale being the major prize drawing at midnight. The event starts at 2:00 pm and runs through midnight. Stop by and join the fun!


Anna Homecoming
Date:
Normally the last weekend in June
Location: Village of Anna, Ohio

The Anna Homecoming is a wonderful community festival and fun for the whole family. Rides, games, food, and live entertainment.


Sidney Fire Summer Bash
Date:
Late June
Location: Sidney, Ohio

Youth baseball tournament featuring boys teams ages 8-14 years old. Each team has a three game guarantee for this high level competition tournament that will draw teams from all over the nation.

American Youth Basketball Tour
Date:
Normally the last weekend in June

Location: Sidney High School, Sidney Middle School, Lehman High School, Sidney Christian Academy and the Sidney YMCA.

Friday evening, Saturday, and Sunday youth basketball competition featuring teams of boys and girls, grades 4-11, from throughout Ohio and Indiana.

Kids Around the Square
Dates:
Normally the last weekend in June
Location: On the Square in Downtown Sidney

The annual Kids Around the Square festival is a free festival designed specifically for children. The festival runs from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm. The festival features various activities for children and is located on the Shelby County Courtsquare in conjunction with The Great Sidney Farmer’s Market, a downtown tradition in itself. Liberty Days
Dates:
Normally the first weekend in July
Location:
  Fort Loramie Community Park

Liberty Days is a wonderful weekend event for the entire family.  Live entertainment, games, rides for the kids, parade, and an incredible fireworks display.


Sidney Fireworks Display
Dates:
Annually on the evening of July 4th
Location: 
Sidney High School - Can be viewed throughout the area.

Fireworks begin at dusk. 


Country Concert in the Hills
Dates:
Normally the 2nd weekend in July
Location: Hickory Hill Lakes, between Fort Loramie and Newport, Ohio

The hills are literally "alive" with music, country music that is! This annual event attracts thousands of visitors from all over the country to see and hear some of the nations top country music stars. The long weekend (Thursday evening thru Sunday afternoon) features almost constant musical performances and also camping for enthusiastic country music fans. Other activities including bull riding and Karaoke competition helps to fill in the idle time between performances. Great fun for young and old. The Shelby County Fair

Each year, the Shelby County Fair provides a host of activities for the entire family, including livestock judging contests, good food, games, activities and more. Join us this year at the Shelby County Fair and we will attempt to entertain and thrill your family from start to finish!

Botkins Sculpture Invitational

Location: Botkins Community Park, Botkins, Ohio

A cultural weekend is planned with over 100 artists invited nationwide. This is the only event of its' kind east of Colorado! Proceeds from the artwork sales will fund scholarships for local students.

Russia Homecoming Festival
Dates: Normally first weekend in September
Location: Russia, Ohio

Mass at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday opens the festival with the enjoyment of live entertainment, rides, games for all ages, food vendors and 50/50 drawings this Labor Day weekend! A 5K run is also planned for 9 a.m. on Sunday.

Fall Festival

Location: On the Square in Downtown Sidney

This downtown Sidney event comes just in time for Halloween and features costume judging contest, various activities at the Amos Memorial Library, trick or treating of the downtown merchants, and more. A great way for you and your children to enjoy a save Halloween this year. Come join the fun!

Winter Wonderland Parade & Lighting Ceremony
Date: Normally late November
Location: On the Square in Downtown Sidney

This downtown Sidney event features a parade with a large number of parade entries and welcomes Santa to Sidney each year. A Lighting Ceremony is featured from 6:30 pm to 7:30 pm. The parade begins at 7:30 pm. Great fun for young and old alike.

The Village Christmas in Jackson Center
Location: Jackson Center

There is Christmas caroling, a community Christmas tree, along with food and drink. Santa attends the festivities, and presides over the free matinee at the Elder Theatre. Downtown merchants offer special promotions for the holiday season.


Christmas of Yesteryear
Date: Normally first Saturday in December
Location:  Downtown Sidney

Holiday happenings featured throughout downtown along with crafts and displays at the Shelby County Historical Society and the Shelby County Library.
